cbox spam free!

Was figuring how to customize the color scheme of my cbox and delete the spam messages which led me to this blog which James and I did during one of the FOC. http://valengifts.blogspot.sg/

I only did the design of the flowers, whereas he came out with the whole blog thingy. No matter what, still kinda proud that I was involved and got to work with such an awesome designer + programmer.

Talking about design, I helped my aunt came up with this farewell "card" and was rather pleased that I can cut and paste stuff. All along I avoided using tools except pencils. :p

I can't wait for the Christmas party on 24th Dec!!! Already started fidgeting with the decoration materials I bought... OH MAN!! CAN'T wait!!! Also thinking of playing with food design, but gave up the idea after a while since it is rather impractical for a person who can't even cook instant noodles... >.<

Signing off, I shall attach a funny photo of myself... It shall be named, THE WONDER OF PHOTO EDITING! Seriously, I looked more haggard and with enlarged pores, etc etc... AND my pupils were grey... See how it smooth-en my skin and recolor my face such that it looks young again?!

Cheer up!!

While trying to improve my temper, I learnt to not flare up immediately when things do not go my way... Reaped some benefits, such as being in a good mood, you will think of print-screening the funny faces when the video got stuck for just too long...

Hope whoever's reading /come across this blog can have a good laugh. :p

New technique acquired

Stayed up late to accompany my sister who was preparing for her art exam the next day. While browsing her prep. work, saw that she toned a flower such that it looks like it was stamped on the paper, with fading effect at the edges.

I was so amazed by this technique, which I have no idea what it's called, that I pestered my sister for two days to teach me. In the end, i managed to come out with this using her prep work as inspiration.

We had a good laugh that night when she drew the same thing twice and didn't really get what I was trying to portray (this). Guess we were both too tired.

Simplicity is elegance, she remarked as I tried to express my views on Japanese flower arrangement and kimono. Only to find that, after QQ replied that the design looks like traditional chinese silk, Japanese kimono designs seem to be influenced by Tang Dynasty. Not sure if I am happy or sad since I like both of them... But just a little sad since I was heading towards the Jap feel~~

Happy Children's Day!!

Was troubled about how to duplicate copies of this and thank goodness there's facebook! :) so I just had to tag them... The response was so good, with even people which I didn't tag, liking it and I was so touched! It is like a sense of affirmation that maybe my kind of art can be accepted by certain group of audience...

Anyway! Really love the neon color pens... Hope manufacturers of such wonderful pen don't stop producing them. Along with glitter pens and multi-color lead pens! :D

Mission Impossible: turn this doggy into a bear!

Was shopping with MJ and saw this which reminded me of bear & cat. However, it is actually a dog... SADED!! Anyway, I thought I could have some fun while I work magic to turn into a couple bobble of cat <3 bear.

Ambitious me attempted it immediately the next day!!

Started by drawing the signature big nose of a bear which I observed on Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma's faces. So far it still looks so damn cute right?

However, when I tried painting and painting, it still can't escape its fate of becoming a puppy bear. T___T would you believe me if it is a bear wearing fake ears and paws to act like a dog?? I went to ask almost everyone and only ONE person said it is a bear. Reason being the color...

So, I kinda lost interest and faith in myself and only touch up a little on the cat. Now they are happily in my cupboard boggling away. :p Still, I had fun! HEHE!! Only $9 and the materials packed in are really cool, with glue, paint (sufficient to pain the whole dog!), several ribbons and brush. I think it is really worth it!

Pumpkin Wonderland

Accompanied my sister to prepare for her art exam and was kinda inspired to draw the following piece.

It looked kinda classic until I started painting and remembered that I am not that good in coloring!! >.<
Re-used the blue and gray paint from the dolphin but realized it has already dried up. :(

Did not finish it as it became not real... :(

Happy memories with QQ

QQ and I decided to start our own album of HAPPY MEMORIES... Though this year doesn't have much to share... >.< But till last year, we have like 13++ events. WOW!!! haha... I only shared like two of the pages since it is P&C. Really so blessed to have a dear who is willing to put aside his dislike (for art) and help me print and cut stuff. OMG, I can get really bossy but luckily he can tolerate and spend like hours watching me grumble while I stick stuff together... Thanks dear! We're now two-years old!! :')

Kinda guilty too since we have not been creating happy memories due to me not managing my own time properly and always end up with lots of overdue work to catch up on... Sigh... *punch myself*
